Moving is the worst. And that’s pretty much what I spent all of May doing. Even though I’ve been a little M.I.A. this month, that doesn’t mean I’ve taken a break from trying a ton of beauty products. (Let’s be real… It’s the only way I stayed sane.) As always, several products disappointed me, but a handful of them are absolutely worth keeping around. Like every other month, I wanted to share with you the products I can’t live without.
It’s summertime, so I had to feature my absolute favorite self tanner, as well as a brightening face powder, a baked foundation powder, and two products for dark under eye circles that have saved me from the severe lack of sleep thanks to the stressful move. So, without further ado, here’s my “Monthly Must-Haves” for May 2014!
1. Tarte Brazilliance Face & Body Self Tanner
I mentioned this briefly in my 10 Summer Beauty Tips blog post, and I’ll be doing a separate product highlight on it as well, but since it’s almost summer and pool days are a must, I had to include this in my list of must-haves for May. I’m extremely pale and most self tanners make me look orange, but not this one! It’s easy to apply, extremely moisturizing, lasts a long time, and is extremely affordable. You can get almost 10 applications out of one bottle that costs $39. Compare that to a spa spray tan for $35-$40 and doing it yourself with the Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner just makes sense.

2. Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream
I meant to feature this last month, but I forgot. Oops. Anyway, this is always a life saver when it comes to sleepless nights and with this last move, I couldn’t live without it. I’ve been using it for months and if you suffer from dark under eye circles, you’ve gotta give this a try. I actually noticed results almost immediately.

3. Laura Geller The Real Deal Concealer
Another must-have for sleepless nights is this awesome concealer that promises (and delivers) “serious coverage”. No joke. This coverage IS serious. Very serious. Use it sparingly because a little goes a long, long way. It’s also only $22 and since you only need to use a small amount, it seems like it’ll last forever. Use it to cover dark circles, acne scars, blemishes, discoloration, or even tattoos.

4. LORAC Porefection Baked Perfecting Powder
I featured LORAC’s Porefection Foundation in my March 2014 Monthly Must-Haves and I picked this one up at a super discounted price during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty. This powder goes really well with their Porefection foundation and gives a gorgeous airbrushed finish. Note: It has salicylic acid in it, so if you’re sensitive to salicylic acid, you may want to pass.

5. Benefit’s Brightening Face Powder – Dandelion
I’ve written about this in my Blondeshell Beauty Tips blog series when I discussed the best blush for every skin tone, and Dandelion is a favorite of many fair-to-light skinned ladies, me included! It acts as a gorgeous blush when applied to the apples of your cheeks, and is also a beautiful subtle highlighter when applied to the bridge of your nose, chin, center of your forehead, and above your brows.
