Looks I Love: Destiney Rose from The People’s Couch

10300643_243965379143530_4569707409387159236_nI can’t tell you how many times I’ve been reading a magazine, surfing the web, or in this case, watching TV and seen makeup that’s made me go “ooooooohhhh that’s pretty.” Since this happens so often, I figured I might as well turn it into a “Looks I Love” blog series, where I’ll highlight some looks that catch my eye in my day-to-day life. These looks will range from something as simple as a stranger’s eye makeup to more complex work, like astonishing special effects makeup, that fascinates me. Either way, I’m glad to finally have a way to share them all with you.

This week, I’m highlighting a lady with an affinity for bold colors and the ability to wear even the most audacious lip colors with confidence. (Seriously… this woman has GREAT taste!) Destiney Rose Rezaei is one of the personalities on Bravo’s new hit television show, The People’s Couch. If you haven’t seen this show, you need to check it out. They just aired their season finale, but you can still catch full episodes and some hilarious clips on Hulu. It’s one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in a while, and one of those reasons is the beautiful Destiney Rose and her gorgeous sister, Cathy’s hilarious commentary.

This Persian beauty is fearless when it comes to her choice in lipstick, and from what I’ve seen so far, her ability to coordinate her lip color with her overall look is pretty damn impressive. Keep reading to see some of my favorite Destiney looks!

Note: I searched and searched for better photos of Destiney, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find any. I had to screenshot them, so the quality isn’t anywhere near what I’d like. If I come across higher quality photos, I’ll be sure to upload them here.

Look I Love – Neon Pink Lipstick:

In this episode of The People’s Couch, Destiney wore a bright multi-colored neon Aztec print bodycon dress that she coordinated flawlessly with a bright pink lipstick paired with a bright pink eyeshadow and a soft touch of coral blush on her cheeks. My guess is she used something like MAC’s Pink Venus on her eyes, something very close to Urban Decay’s Lipstick in Anarchy on her lips, and a blush like Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy on her cheeks.

One thing I’ve noticed and loved episode after episode is how Destiney seems to know exactly what works and what doesn’t work with her skin tone. It’s also important to note that she doesn’t seem to get stuck in any ruts. (You know what I’m talking about… when you find something that works and then never try anything new.) Destiney definitely keeps it fresh and switches it up often. Keep reading… You’ll see what I mean.

Look I Love – Coral Pink Lipstick:

Of course I’m going to talk about how great this lipstick looks on Destiney, but first, can we talk about how amazing her eyebrows are? In the top 2 photos, you can see how Destiney highlights directly under the arch of her brow/brow bone with a shimmery soft pink color. My guess is she uses a pink brow highlighting powder like the one that came in the Brows-A-Go-Go kit by Benefit, or a pencil like High Brow Glow from Benefit and then gently blends it in.

As for her choice in lipstick , you can definitely see the difference between the neon pink in the first look and this one. This is more of a soft pink/nude/coral color. I’m not sure exactly what color she is wearing, but if I had to guess, I’d say it was something like Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Lip Color in Coral Pink, which is a bright warm pink lipstick, or perhaps Chanel Rouge Hydrating Crème Lip Color in Paradis or Sari Dore. Either way, she wears it well.

Look I Love – Soft Pink Lipstick:

I love Destiney in pink lipstick, and she can pull of bright pink just as well as she can a soft pink. In the top right photo, her lipstick resembles something like Chanel’s Dédicare or Too Faced’s Razzle Dazzle Rose. The lipstick in the top right and bottom photo are similar to Dolce & Gabbana’s Shine Lipstick in Splendid (160) or perhaps even Guerlain Giulette Rouge G Lipstick.

Look I Love – Fuschia Lipstick:

Not the highest quality photos, but I did my best with what I had. Here, Destiney is killin’ it with some badass fuschia lipstick. I’ve yet to see her wear a full-on purple lip color, but I have no doubt she could pull it off. For this lipstick, I would guess she went with something like NARS lipstick in Funny Face or Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fuschia Flash Matte.

Look I Love – Warm Red Lipstick:

Last, but certainly not least, I have to applaud Destiney for pulling off red lipstick like it was nothing. There truly is a red lipstick out there for everyone, and this should prove that point perfectly. Destiney can effortlessly pull of a neon pink or fuschia lipstick just as easily as she can a red lipstick.

Since bright colors work so well with her skin tone, Destiney looks best with a red lipstick that has a hint of orange. Destiney has warm/olive undertones, and the orange adds warmth to her lip color to perfectly match her complexion. I’d imagine she’s wearing something like Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Bang or MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger. No matter what lipstick she’s wearing, I applaud her for wearing it so well!

I can’t wait for next season of The People’s Couch so I can “ooohhh” and “aaahhh” over Destiney’s makeup choices. I’m sure this won’t be the last time she’s featured on The Blondeshell Blog. Oh, and if you haven’t already fallen in love with Destiney, then seriously give The People’s Couch a chance. Between her and her sister, you’ll be in stitches from laughing so hard.

So now that you’ve seen my favorite of Destiney Rose’s looks, tell me… What do you think? Which of her looks is your favorite? Tell me in the comment section below!

  • Great post. I’ve had the pleasure of calling Destiney a close friend since childhood and she’s even funnier and radiant in real life. Glad she’s getting some shine both on TV and on this blog. Suffice it to say I don’t know shit about makeup, but I can attest that Destiney never has an off day with the way she looks or dresses.
